Frequently asked questions

To collect Avios, you must have both a British Airways Club and Uber account. If you do not have either, you can easily sign up for free.

You will collect 1 Avios per £1 or 1 Avios per €1 spent on the price of the of the qualifying ride, excluding tips and any miscellaneous fees such as cleaning charges.

The Uber ride must travel within the UK or the Republic of Ireland.

If you're linked to more than one Uber Rewards programme and wish to collect Avios into your British Airways Club account, please ensure British Airways Club is selected as your Preferred Earning Partner.

Only one Uber account can be linked to one British Airways Club account and the accounts must be the same person. Accounts can be de-linked at any time, after which you will no longer be able to collect Avios.

No, you can collect Avios on any qualifying trip taken within the UK. There is no minimum or maximum spend.

Your Avios will be awarded within 24 hours of completing your qualifying ride. Retrospective claims are not permitted, you must have linked your Uber account to your British Airways Club account before taking the ride.

This could be that you're a British Airways Registered Customer rather than a member of The British Airways Club. If you're a registered customer, you won't have a British Airways Club membership number, but you'll have log in credentials for ba.com. When you sign in to your account on ba.com, you'll see an option to convert to a British Airways Club account which will enable you to start collecting Avios.

If you're a Club member but still missing Avios, please allow 24 hours from taking the ride for them to be awarded. If you're still missing them after this time, please contact Uber, via the help section of the app, who'll be able to investigate this.

You must speak to Uber first as Uber can check that your accounts were linked, you have taken a qualifying ride, and that the time to award has passed. If the Avios are missing, Uber will raise a missing Avios request with British Airways and the Avios will be awarded within 14 days.

Terms and conditions

  1. This Offer is jointly provided by (1) Uber London Limited (“Uber”) a company incorporated in England and Wales and whose registered office is at Aldgate Tower - First Floor, 2 Leman Street, E1 8FA, London; and (2) Avios Group (AGL) Limited (“AGL”) a company incorporated in England and Wales and whose registered office is at Waterside, Speedbird Way, Harmondsworth, United Kingdom UB7 0GB registered Company no. 02260073; and (3) British Airways PLC (“BA”) a company incorporated in England and Wales and whose registered office is at Waterside, Speedbird Way, Harmondsworth, United Kingdom, UB7 0GB registered Company no. 01777777.

  2. To be eligible for this Offer, customers must be at least 18 years old, be a Member of the British Airways Club (“BAC”) and hold a valid Uber account (“Eligible Participants” or in the singular, an "Eligible Participant”).

  3. In order to verify eligibility for the Offer, we might require that an Eligible Participant provide us with proof of age and identity.

  4. To earn Avios, Eligible Participants must link their Uber account to their British Airways Club account in the Uber app and select the British Airways Club as their Preferred Reward program.

  5. To participate in this Offer Eligible Participants must confirm and accept these Terms and Conditions as well as British Airways' Scheme Terms and Conditions. For full details of the Scheme Terms and Conditions please visit ba.com.

  6. Only one Uber account can be linked to a British Airways Club account and the holder of the accounts must be the same person.

  7. Standard Avios earn rate is 1 Avios per £1 of Qualifying Spend for trips booked and completed via the Uber app within the UK and 1 Avios per €1 of Qualifying Spend for trips booked and completed via the Uber app within the Republic of Ireland (the “Offer”).

  8. Qualifying Spend is the upfront price of the trip, post any promotion or discount, and where applicable, will include tolls, surcharges and fees. Exclusions to Qualifying Spend are tips and any miscellaneous fees such as cleaning fees.

  9. Offer is valid for rides taken in the mainland UK, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland. Avios earn rate applies to completed trips with a departure and destination within mainland UK, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland (with the exception of Eurostar trips which must have a UK departure or UK arrival).

  10. Eligible Uber mobility categories are UberX, UberXL, Uber Assist, Uber Access, Uber Comfort, Uber Exec, Uber Lux, Uber Reserve, Uber Pet, Uber Green, Uber Boat, Lime e-bikes and scooters, Black Cab, Coach, Rail and Eurostar.

  11. Eligible Uber mobility categories for trips completed within the Republic of Ireland are Uber Taxi, Taxi XL, Uber Black, Taxi Max, Taxi Access, Uber Reserve, Uber Green.

  12. Uber Reserve is available in all cities in the Republic of Ireland and only available in specific locations within the UK and Uber mobility categories, as follows – Greater London: UberX, UberXL, Uber Exec, Uber Lux. Manchester: UberX, UberXL, Uber Exec. South-West (incl Bristol and Bath): UberX, UberXL, Uber Exec. Birmingham: UberX, UberXL, Uber Comfort, Uber Exec. Leeds: UberX. Leicester: UberX. Merseyside (primarily Liverpool): UberX. Nottingham: UberX. Republic of Ireland: Uber Taxi, Taxi XL, Taxi Max, Uber Black, Taxi Access, Taxi Green.   13. Validated Avios will be awarded within 24 hours of the completed Uber trip, or where a booking consists of multiple Uber trips, within 24 hours of the last trip on the booking.

  14. Notwithstanding anything else in these Terms and Conditions, where a booking consists of multiple Uber trips and one or more of those Uber trips is cancelled by the customer, the customer will cease to be considered an Eligible Participant for any part of that booking and will therefore no longer qualify for the Offer with respect to any of the Uber trips on that booking.

  15. Avios can only be applied to a British Airways Club account once.

  16. This Offer is non-transferable and cannot be used in conjunction with any other Avios related offer or Uber offer or promotion.

  17. Retrospective claims for Avios are not permitted.

  19. Avios Group (AGL) Limited, British Airways and Uber reserve the right to terminate an Eligible Participant’s participation in this Offer if they believe such Eligible Participant is in breach of these Terms and Conditions, or if their use is unauthorised, fraudulent, or otherwise unlawful.

  20. Avios Group (AGL) Limited, British Airways and Uber reserve the right to withdraw this Offer or amend these Terms and Conditions, including Avios earn rates, without prior notice at any time, for whatever reason, and without any liability to Eligible Participants for doing so.

  21. Avios are issued to Eligible Participants subject to acceptance and compliance with the Scheme Terms and Conditions. For full details please visit ba.com.

  22. Please visit uber.com/legal for Uber's General Terms (including Uber Rides Terms and Uber Travel Terms and Conditions), which shall apply to this Offer.

  23. By taking part in this Offer, Eligible Participants agree to the personal data they supply being used by AGL, British Airways and Uber or their agents or subcontractors for the sole purpose of administering this Offer. Avios Group Limited reserves the right to withdraw the promotion or amend these Terms and Conditions without prior notice at any time, for whatever reason, and without any liability to customers for doing so.

  24. Insofar as is permitted by law, British Airways, AGL and Uber will not (and nor will our agents or distributors), in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate an Eligible Participant, accept any liability to and Eligible Participant (whether direct, indirect, special, incidental, exemplary, punitive or consequential) for any loss, damage, personal injury or death arising out of or in connection with their participation in the Offer whether such liability arises from any claim based upon contract, warranty, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, and whether or not we (or our affiliates) have been advised of the possibility of such loss, damage, personal injury or death. Statutory rights of Eligible Participants are not affected.

  25. Promotional materials may form part of these Terms and Conditions.

  26. This Offer shall be governed by the laws of England & Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, but not exclusively if the Eligible Participant is a resident of the United Kingdom but outside England and Wales; then the courts of Scotland or Northern Ireland (depending on the Eligible Participant’s jurisdiction) also have jurisdiction. If the Eligible Participant is resident in the Republic of Ireland, then the courts of the Republic of Ireland also have jurisdiction.

  27. British Airways, Avios Group (AGL) Limited and Uber do not assume any responsibility for any typographical or other error in the administration of the Offer.

  28. British Airways, Avios Group (AGL) Limited and Uber's collective decision regarding any aspect of the Offer is final and binding and we will not enter into correspondence with Eligible Participants (or their representatives) about it.
