Announcing: The Speech Technology and Applications Roadshow Series
One-day conferences presented by AVIOS

Attention AVIOS Members and those interested in joining! As an additional benefit to members, and as an introduction to our society, AVIOS has launched its Quarterly Speech Technology and Applications Roadshow (STAR) Series! Here's what you can typically expect from a Roadshow:

  • Speech-based Tutorials and Presentations from AVIOS Members
  • A Chance to Network with other Members and Prospective Members

November 2 - 4, 2005, Orlando — The AVIOS Quarterly Roadshow is co-locating with the Sterling Audits Usability Workshop at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Walt Disney World Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

September 2005, Israel — A successful launch of the AVIOS Israel Local Chapter.

The event took place in Tel Aviv with over 70 attendees including speech technology provides and several leading end users- customers.

The purpose of AVIOS Israel is to formally build an active speech community and a fruitful networking between the suppliers and their clients and colleagues.

Chairing AVIOS Israel is Dr. Nava Shaked who dedicated the first forum meeting to "Speech recognition issues and challenges".

Participating in the first local chapter gathering were leading members of the speech community in Israel as you can see below:

The success of this meeting and the demand for more will hopefully lead to regular meeting activity. The next session is planned around March 2006.
