You can collect Avios when you book an eligible stay through Avios Hotels. Avios Hotels gives you access to more than 300,000 hotels worldwide, making it easy to collect Avios whether you're planning a city break, business trip or holiday.

To collect Avios, start your booking through Avios Hotels and sign in with your British Airways Club account. This means any Avios you collect are added to the correct account.

The number of Avios you'll collect depends on the hotel, your travel dates, the room you choose and the current collection rate. Before you book, you'll see how many Avios you can collect, along with the total cost of your stay.

Some bookings may not be eligible to collect Avios. This can include cancelled bookings, bookings that aren't completed or rates that are excluded under the booking terms and conditions. Check the booking details before you confirm your stay.

After you've completed your stay, your Avios are usually added to your British Airways Club account within within 31 days of your completed stay.

If your Avios haven't arrived after the expected collection period, first check that you've completed an eligible stay and that your British Airways Club membership number was added correctly. If everything looks correct, visit the missing Avios page to make a claim.

If you'd rather use your Avios instead of collecting them, you can also choose to pay with Avios, or with a combination of Avios and cash, on eligible hotel bookings.

You can book car hire with Avios by visiting the Car hire section on Avios.com.

Search for your destination, travel dates and preferred vehicle, then choose from the available options. You can pay with Avios, cash or a combination of both, depending on the booking. Once you've completed your booking, you'll receive a confirmation email with your booking details.

Be sure to review the booking terms, including any driver requirements, insurance options and cancellation policy before you book.

If you cancel your car hire booking, whether you're entitled to a refund depends on the cancellation policy for your booking. If you're eligible for a refund, any Avios and cash will be returned to the original payment method.

If you've completed an eligible car hire booking and your Avios haven't been credited after the expected collection period, contact the car hire support team with your booking details so they can investigate. Avios are usually credited within eight weeks after you've completed an Avis rental, or within 31 days after you've completed a Budget rental.

Sorry, it is not possible to change the name of the primary/main driver on a car hire booking.

You would need to cancel your existing booking and rebook. Please note prices can change, we recommend re-pricing your new booking first.

If you're missing Avios from a recent car hire rental with Avis or Budget, we need to establish where you originally made the booking to ensure your claim is directed to the right team.

Avis & Budget

Online via our Avios Shopping Store: You will collect your Avios 31 days after the end of your trip. If this time has passed, raise a claim here.

Direct booking with Avis/Budget: Please allow 6-8 weeks for Avis transactions to appear on your statement before making a 'Missing Avios' claim. Raise a claim here.

The term 'Or Similar' is used because the vehicle you are allocated may not be the exact make and model as the vehicle displayed. However, it will be from the same car group, meaning that it will be comparable in size and performance to that vehicle. The actual vehicle you are allocated will depend on the makes and models available at the time within the car group you request. If we are unable to provide a vehicle in your requested car group, we will provide a vehicle from the next available car group up at no extra charge.
